![]() ![]() ![]() With previous releases of Evoland and Evoland 2 gracing many a platform from iOS to Android and Windows, the series now seeks to stake its claim on the major consoles, the Nintendo Switch being one of them. To remind us of this, Shiro Games have worked to create a gaming series which is steeped in gaming history. I could go on, but gaming has evolved in ways one could have only hoped. From the original Grand Theft Auto with its birds-eye view to an open world expanse as long as the eye can see. ![]() From humble beginnings playing FIFA 96 on the Sega MegaDrive to being able to compete against other footie fans from across the world. For $5, it may be worth it, but for some people looking for deeper games, there are probably better ways to spend you time and money, especially with a good deal.Gaming has evolved at a rapid rate in my twenty plus years enjoying this truly wonderful art from. Just don't expect a polished experience with a lot of depth. It's a neat concept, and many people give good reviews for the game, so you may like it. Never tried the second one after reading many reviews that it wasn't as good as the first. Ultimately, I made it to the final boss and gave up, just losing interest. Examples of this: the music loops, but there's an obvious gap in the loop (at least on the Switch version), and you can get stuck by some of the puzzles, resulting in having to quit to the main menu and restart from the last save. The game is also a bit buggy and unpolished. It's just overall lacking in any sort of depth. For example, the progression is limited to just gaining experience for some battles (but not others), no real abilities gained aside from about 3-4 (1 heal, 1 summon, and 1 magic attack total between two characters, in addition to basic attack), no real loot (there's actually not much at all in the way of an inventory), and battles are pretty basic. However, I found the gameplay very basic. ![]() Have to say that the premise of evolving game tech is interesting, and the story is entertaining and has throwbacks to other popular games. I just played this game last week, after getting it a while back on a previous sale. ![]()
